Rec & Roll Day Program
Rec & Roll is a therapeutic based day program for individuals aged 18+ with a developmental disability. Therapeutic recreation uses education and recreation services to help people with disabilities develop and enhance their quality of life. Rec & Roll increases the participant’s involvement in the community as well as continued growth and training in life skills as it emphasizes:
- leisure independence
- social interaction
- community integration
- educational development
- service projects
Rec & Roll also includes volunteer projects, field trips, fitness, outdoor recreation, arts and crafts, and games. Upon occasion additional money is required. Participants must be able to function in a 1:6 ratio and perform all of their own daily living skills.
Rec & Roll offers flexibility for parents and their busy schedules. Parents chose what days of the week they sign up for - from one to five days per week. This is a nice opportunity for those participants who do work one or two days per week because they could supplement their workweek with recreation and social opportunities at Rec & Roll. Rec & Roll is offered 5 days a week at each location and meets 9am-2pm.
