Welcome To WDSRA!

The fun starts here! Special recreation at WDSRA brings you exciting programs created by expert staff dedicated to making sure every experience is a positive one. You get creative, innovative programming with opportunities to create social groups and make friends.

WDSRA has programs from as young as 3 years old to well into the senior years of life. There is something for every interest including: competitive and recreational athletics, Special Olympics, adaptive sports, music, dance, art, theater, social clubs, camps, trips, special events and more!

WHO WE ARE

The Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA) was established in 1976 to expand recreational opportunities for individuals with special needs. It began with a summer day camp, soon followed by a bowling program. Today, WDSRA serves residents across nine communities—Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Glen Ellyn, Naperville, Roselle, Warrenville, West Chicago, Wheaton, and Winfield. We offer hundreds of social and recreational programs year round. As a cooperative extension of each community’s park district, we take pride in providing inclusive, enriching programs for all.

OUR MISSION

We enrich lives, connect communities and create fun through inclusive recreational opportunities.

OUR VISION

A world of opportunities, belonging and individuals reaching their full potential.

It was one of those small, unexpected moments that spoke volumes about the heart of our team.We are grateful for this great group of staff, the connections we share, and the season ahead. Let’s make it a great summer! ... See MoreSee Less
